Who Am I?

My name is Lauran Posh. I am the owner and ONLY trainer behind East Texas Canine Concepts LLC. I started training dogs professionally in 2020 in Bowling Green, Ohio where I was born and raised. Outside of professional dog training, I train and compete with my Working Line German Shepherds in IGP, formerly called Schutzhund.

Training Methods

We utilize balanced training methods to help you achieve your goals with your furry family member! With clear communication, we can help you and your dog cultivate a more harmonious relationship!

What IS balanced dog training? Dog training consists of four quadrants: positive reinforcement, negative reinforcement, positive punishment, and negative punishment. Utilizing these quadrants is what makes our methods balanced.

First off, “positive” and “negative” do not mean “good” and “bad”. “Positive” means you’re adding a stimulus, while “negative” means you’re removing a stimulus. Secondly, “reinforcement” means to increase or maintain an existing behavior. “Punishment” means removing something to decrease the chances of undesired behavior recurring.

Sometimes all four quadrants are used on one dog, while sometimes only one or two quadrants are used on one dog. That’s the beauty of balanced training. We can customize your dogs training experience to suit their needs to ensure both you and your dog excel.

Dog training is not “one size fits all.” Let us customize your dog training experience!
